Toy Schnauzers..Toy? Is there such a thing?
What is it?...YES there is such a thing as a Toy Schnauzer and a T-Cup Schnauzer. Toy and T-Cup are terms that are used
to describe a certain size. What you may find confusing is not all people use these terms in the same manner. Schnauzer
are not registered as Toy or T Cup, these are terms that we use to describe something - and that something is size.
Miniature, Standard & Giant are how Schnauzers are registered. In size classifications set up by the breed registries
such as AKC & CKC. Toy sized Schnauzers are smaller then Miniature Schnauzers. The Miniature
Schnauzer is the size Schnauzer
that you most often see. The Toy and T Cup are the newest and most unique. They share the same gene pool as the
Miniature Schnauzer however years of selective breeding and careful planning has been given to decrease the size without
compromising the health, typical breed type and temperament. Obviously this has been done to fit the needs and desires
of today's client. With families becoming smaller and the need for large homes has decreased more and more people are
choosing apartment and condo type living. the days of the huge back yards is all but gone for most families. It
has become increasing more fashionable to have smaller and smaller pets. With all of the air travel and pets that go
to and from work with people the demand for tiny dogs is everywhere. The Schnauzer being a long time favorite
of so many people it has been a progression to "breed down" in size. With all of the genetic testing available
today, this has become possible in a new way~a healthy one. You don't have to search out the "runt" of the litter and take
the risk of adding a potentially unhealthy puppy to your family. Now you can buy with confidence and not only get the
size your seeking but also get a healthy, well adjusted puppy.
Our Toy Schnauzers are
truly special. They have all of the qualities that you expect in a Miniature Schnauzers only in a smaller package.
We have the more "rare" colors due to the fact that we like them! I love the more unique appearance that our schnauzers
have in size and color. We do offer the traditional size and colors that you have been seeing all of your life~we are
just Schnauzer crazy..Poodle crazy too!
